Srinagar, Jul 06 (KNO): A young Kashmiri youth believes that Web 3 technologies can address unemployment and empower the youth in Kashmir.
Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mutahir Showkat, a Kashmir-based entrepreneur from South Kashmir, who is founder of Clout Scoop, passionately advocated for a blockchain revolution to address unemployment issues and empower the youth of Kashmir.
Clout Scoop is an independent web-3 based education and News Company. Mutahir believes that embracing blockchain and related technologies could transform the region and provide much-needed opportunities.
Kashmir has faced significant challenges in recent years, including prolonged phone shutdowns and an unstable education system. Jobs are scarce, and the youth have limited opportunities.
Mutahir emphasised the need for better technologies, with web-3 being a potential game-changer. He stated that while people in Kashmir often use social media, games, and banking apps, there is much more to explore in the technological world. The global shift towards the metaverse highlights the importance of decentralised technologies.
Mutahir acknowledged that some people doubt the environmental impact of decentralisation, but he believes independence in technology is crucial for the current situation.
He stressed the importance of embracing web-3 technologies, including cryptocurrencies, NFTs, DeFi, DAOs, and more. He expressed concern that only a small percentage of Kashmir's population is aware of these developments. Social issues, he noted, stem from the scarcity of jobs and opportunities.
Despite the prevalence of advanced technology, traditional career choices still dominate. Mutahir urged a shift towards nurturing entrepreneurship and industry game-changers.
He emphasised that blockchain is not just about making money; it is a way of life. He called for collective responsibility in shaping a brighter future for Kashmir's youth.
Mutahir expressed disappointment that local talent in various fields is not adequately supported. He envisions blockchain as the key to reshaping Kashmir's future. He urged the youth to embrace the web-3 culture and catch up with the global blockchain industry.
The current scenario in Kashmir is concerning with youth facing depression and a surge in drug abuse. The cause, according to Mutahir, is simple: the lack of employment. Predicting the future dominance of technologies like cryptos, NFTs, and DeFi, he believes that the web-3 culture could eradicate issues like drug abuse and unemployment in Kashmir.
He called for a collective awakening and saw blockchain as a catalyst for positive change.
Mutahir pointed out that blockchain is not just about trading crypto coins or investing in cryptocurrencies. The technology has a lot to offer, whether in jobs, employment, or the future. Many innovative things are being built on the blockchain, such as smart contracts, decentralised finance (DeFi), supply chain management, voting systems, healthcare, real estate, intellectual property protection, the Internet of Things (IoT), and gaming and digital collectibles (NFTs).
He noted that few people are currently involved in these fields, making it an excellent opportunity for the youth of Kashmir to get into such technologies. Mutahir emphasized that the security of blockchain technology is growing rapidly. Big companies like BlackRock, Vanguard, and countries like Russia, the US, the UK, and El Salvador have already started adopting it completely.
Mutahir firmly believes that blockchain is the only way to get the youth into more innovative fields. It is a field that does not require a degree; it only asks for talent, hard work, communication, and effort. He believes that Kashmir is a very talented place, and developing decentralized technology within the region will change the scenario for the youth.
Mutahir's vision is clear: blockchain can be a powerful tool for the empowerment and growth of Kashmir's youth.
